In the Beginning

An Inaugural Meeting of the Australian Iron Club Association was held in Sydney in October 1992, with 48 people attending. It was a great success, with several people travelling from Victoria.

2007 sees a healthy Club, with 118 members from Australia, New Zealand, U.S.A. the United Kingdom and Germany.

The Australian Iron Club has an A.G.M. (usually the third weekend in October and alternates between N.S.W. and Victoria), with at least two social meetings during the year, one in N.S.W. and one in Victoria.

Our publication is called “The Iron Express” and is distributed to members four times per year (March, June, September and December).

Membership is from July – June for a cost of $30 (Australia) and $35 (International) per family.

2009 offers the opportunity of a lifetime with the 14th International Congress of Collectors of Irons being held in Napier, Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand 16th – 18th October. Start making plans for an opportunity to combine your hobby with a trip to Paradise! For more details see www.ironcollectors.com.
